Is your WordPress site agent-ready? Check it free
Most WordPress business sites pass the Found pillar and fail the rest: no structured data beyond a WebSite entity, no llms.txt, and no way for a person's agent to sign in or ask a question. The Agent Adapt plugin needs WooCommerce; a site without a shop is covered by the hosted Company.
What the check usually finds on WordPress
- Found
- Usually fine. Watch for SEO plugins' AI-crawler toggles that block the assistants as well as the training crawlers.
- Understood
- Often only a WebSite entity. The SEO plugins can add Organization or LocalBusiness; Service entities are rare.
- Usable
- No poppy.json, so nothing a person's agent can use beyond reading pages.
- Trusted
- Nothing to score until there is agent sign-in.
What you can do
- 1
Describe the business and what it sells in schema.org
Your SEO plugin's Organization or LocalBusiness settings do this; add the services you sell as Service entities. The check looks for an Organization, LocalBusiness or Store entity, and Product/Offer or Service entities, as JSON-LD on the home page.
- 2
Let assistants in through robots.txt
Edit robots.txt through your SEO plugin, or the file at the site root. Allow ChatGPT-User, Claude-User and Perplexity-User (they fetch a page only when a person asks) and the AI search bots (OAI-SearchBot, Claude-SearchBot, PerplexityBot). Blocking training crawlers such as GPTBot or CCBot is a separate choice and costs no points.
- 3
Publish llms.txt
A short Markdown page at /llms.txt naming the business, what it sells, its delivery and returns policies, and the pages that matter. Most platforms can serve a plain-text file at the root; where one cannot, a redirect to a page you host elsewhere works.

The protocol part: a hosted Company
A WordPress site can serve /.well-known/poppy.json from the hosted Company with a small proxy rule in the web server, or a tiny mu-plugin that fetches and serves it, so the hosted Company fits it without the WooCommerce plugin. Agent Adapt is building a hosted Company for sites that cannot run its WordPress plugin: it publishes poppy.json, runs the sign-in and the customer API, and the document is served on the site's own domain through a small proxy (the spec stopped allowing a redirect to the provider's host on 16 October 2026). It is not yet on sale.

Common questions
›Do I need WooCommerce?
Only for the plugin. A business site without a shop gets the protocol part from the hosted Company, which also gives it a Company Agent: an assistant that answers customers' agents from your own pages and hands over to a person when needed.
›Is there a WordPress plugin without WooCommerce coming?
A small connector for WordPress-without-WooCommerce is an open decision, not a product. Ask for early access and say which you'd prefer.
