Is your WooCommerce store agent-ready? Check it free

WooCommerce is the one platform where the whole score is in the merchant's hands: a free plugin publishes the protocol document, runs agent sign-in and the customer API inside WordPress, and the rest is ordinary SEO housekeeping.

What the check usually finds on WooCommerce

Found
Most WooCommerce stores allow every crawler, or block only /wp-admin and /cart. A few SEO plugins add AI-crawler blocks that also catch the assistants.
Understood
WooCommerce prints Product and Offer JSON-LD on product pages, but the home page often carries only a WebSite entity, and llms.txt is rare.
Usable
No poppy.json unless a plugin publishes it. With Agent Adapt installed, discovery, the issuer's metadata and sign-in pass.
Trusted
The free plugin gives agents identified sign-in and revocation; the operations extension (cancel, return, address changes) is in the paid tier.

What you can do

  1. 1

    Install Agent Adapt (free)

It makes the store a Company under the Personal Agent Protocol: discovery at /.well-known/poppy.json, an OAuth server inside WordPress, customer sign-in, a scope-enforced API and agent browsing. Activate it and re-run the check.

  2. 2

    Let assistants in through robots.txt

Edit robots.txt through your SEO plugin, or the file at the site root. Allow ChatGPT-User, Claude-User and Perplexity-User (they fetch a page only when a person asks) and the AI search bots (OAI-SearchBot, Claude-SearchBot, PerplexityBot). Blocking training crawlers such as GPTBot or CCBot is a separate choice and costs no points.

  3. 3

Describe the business and what it sells in schema.org

Your SEO plugin can emit an Organization entity on the home page; check it names the business, its logo and a contact point. The check looks for an Organization, LocalBusiness or Store entity, and Product/Offer or Service entities, as JSON-LD on the home page.

  4. 4

    Publish llms.txt

A short Markdown page at /llms.txt naming the business, what it sells, its delivery and returns policies, and the pages that matter. Most platforms can serve a plain-text file at the root; where one cannot, a redirect to a page you host elsewhere works.

Common questions

›Does the free plugin cover the whole score?

The Found and Understood pillars are site housekeeping you do yourself. The free plugin passes every protocol check in the Usable pillar and the sign-in and revocation checks in Trusted. The operations extension, worth 7 points, is in the paid tier.

›Will it slow the store down?

The plugin adds no front-end script and no build step. The protocol endpoints answer only when an agent calls them.

›What about WordPress sites without WooCommerce?

The plugin needs WooCommerce. A WordPress business site without a shop is covered by the hosted Company (see the WordPress page).
